This Weekend: Violinist Midori & the OAYO All-Orchestra Concert at the Holland

After more than 20 years on stage, onetime violin prodigy Midori remains one of the leading violinists in the world, consistently appearing with top orchestras including the Berlin, New York and Israel Philharmonics and the San Francisco Symphony.

Today, Midori and and accompanist Bob McDonald continue their U.S. recital tour and making a stop here in Omaha Nebraska. Their program includes work by Brahms, Beethoven, Grieg and Corigliano. Catch them if your can, as tickets have been snatched up throughout this week.

Other concert to note this weekend is on Sunday,
Omaha Area Youth Orchestra will open its new season with an All-Orchestra Concert. The program will feature a variety of orchestral music presented by four of the OAYO’s ensembles. Additionally, the concert will feature Luke Witchger, the 2007 OAYO concerto competition winner. Witchger will play the final movement of Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1.
